Ramsar, Iran, November 17, 2016 – The second edition of Iranian Adolescent’s Mini-Volleyball Tournament lasted seven days in Ramsar, where 155 participating teams competed to keep the pulse of new volleyball generation.

This mini-volleyball tournament began on November 8 in both boys and girls’ categories. Along with “Volleyball Your Way,” one of the main purposes to find out some talents to be in the national team in the next five years later in 2021 when these young generations will be kept in good form.

Over 700 athletes took part in this festival that ended with a remarkable success. The tournament ran for three days in the boy’s category, where 82 teams attended. After 146 overall matches, Golastan, Mazandaran, Kashan, and Guilan fared well to emerge as the top four teams.

Seventy-five players were chosen to keep their practice going in their zonal camps running once every three months. The final national boys will be chosen among them.

In the girls’ category, seventy-three teams competed within 16 groups and after holding 164 matches, Isfahan Barkhar, Isfahan Khomeini Shahr, and Kerman Shahr-e Babak finished as the top three ranked teams. The MVP in each position were sent to the talents-finding committee for further training.

Dr. Mohammad Reza Davarzani, President of Iran Volleyball Federation along with Majda Cicic, the Serbian head coach of Iran’s women team, and members of talents-finding committee from 31 provinces of Iran were all present in the closing ceremony.

President Davarzani emphasized the importance of finding talents from all over Iran. He witnessed the evaluations on site and also praised the contributions of all the official members.
