Bangkok, Thailand, March 19, 2017 – Asia’s volleyball-governing body AVC signed a four-year sponsorship deal with manufacturing company Grand Sport at Dusit Princess Srinakarin Hotel here on Sunday, with guests of honour including FIVB and AVC Honorary Life President Mr Wei Jizhong and over 50 AVC technical committee members attending.
Dr Chai Nimakorn, Chief Executive Director and Managing Director of Grand Sport Group, himself Director of the FIVB Development Centre in Thailand, and AVC President Dr Saleh A. Bin Nasser signed a sponsorship contract at a ceremony on Sunday. Aside from Mr Wei Jizhong, AVC Executive Vice Presidents Mr Essa Hamza and Madam Rita Subowo, AVC Secretary-General Mr Shanrit Wongprasert and Mr Somporn Chaibangyang, President of Thailand Volleyball Association, were guests of honour at the signing-contract ceremony.
“On behalf of Grand Sport Group, I would like to thank the AVC executive members to give us the opportunity to sponsor the AVC events from 2017 to 2020. My brother Mr Kij Pluckcha-oom was the founder of the Grand Sport Group and he has a close relationship with the TVA for more than 30 years,” said Dr Chai.
“The relationship has been extended to AVC when its headquarters has been shifted to Bangkok in 2014. I would like to say that this is the opportunity that Grand Sport will work officially with AVC. Apart from sponsoring the AVC, we will also further our cordial relationship to all national federations affiliated with the AVC not only on discounting our products, but also business development for prosperity of the AVC and our mutual benefits. Hopefully, we can work closely as the volleyball family,” he added.
Dr Chai and Dr Saleh A. Bin Nasser exchanged the contract and the AVC President delivered a speech, followed by a photo session.
