Bangkok, Thailand, March 19, 2017 – The AVC Development and Marketing Committee have been urged to sharpen their development skill as it will lead to sustainable development of volleyball.
Mr Ramon Suzara chaired the AVC DMC Meeting at Dusit Princess Srinakarin Hotel here on Saturday, with AVC President Dr Saleh A. Bin Nasser, FIVB and AVC Honorary Life President Mr Wei Jizhong, AVC Executive Vice Presidents Mr Essa Hamza and Madam Rita Subowo and AVC Secretary-General Shanrit Wongprasert in attendance as guests of honour.
Ahead of the meeting, the topic of development in volleyball was raised by Mr Wei, citing that the concept of development can take shape in real life only if it will be taken for effective use.
“Development can happen only when it is taken for use in reality. Training courses for coaches and referees, for example, must be conducted professionally. Those who attend courses should concentrate more on what they can learn and obtain from the courses. Their main reasons for attending courses should not be because they wanted to go sightseeing and get certificates,” said Mr Wei.
In terms of the inaugural AVC Gala, which will take place in Bali, Indonesia in November, AVC Executive Vice President Madam Rita thanked all parties for their supports to the staging of the prestigious event and she also expressed her sincere gratitude to Hong Kong to be a candidate for hosting the following AVC Gala.
During the DMC Meeting, reports from the FIVB Development Commission Meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland in January as well as the FIVB Vision and Strategy 2024 were presented, while approval of the 2017 AVC Technical Courses and AVC Promotional video 2016 by SMM TV were also taken for consideration and discussion in the meeting.
