Nanjing, China, April 19, 2017 – Tangshan is looking forward to adding to its fame of the China’s two of hot springs with the staging of the 2017 FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships and the FIVB World Beach Volleyball Silk Tour.
An inspection visit made by FIVB Beach Volleyball Department Director Cao Yu marked a milestone of Tangshan in preparing for hosting the two prestigious FIVB events.
“The venue planning is great. But I would like to suggest to make a long-term planning at least 8-10 years instead of just hosting the beach volleyball events.” said Cao Yu after learning that the promoter Jiangsu Fountask has the right to use the land for thirty years.
“The location of the site is good with wonderful landscape and convenient transportation but it seems a little bit unfrequented. So I suggest to launch some promotion activities to promote the area and the events.” said FIVB Beach Volleyball Commission Member Mr. Liu Bing, who joined the inspection on behalf of China Volleyball Association.
The inspection started last Friday till Monday with a full accompany of representatives from Jiangsu Sports Administration, Jiangning Sports Bureau, Tangshang Hotspring Resort Administrative Committee and co-promoters of Jiangsu Fountask and All Win Fun Sports.
Apart from the venues, hotels were also inspected while some detailed issues like competition schedule, prize money, visa invitation letter, equipment, sands were also confirmed during the visit.
Tangshan, called “soup mountain” in Chinese, is located in the Jiangning District of Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu Province. It is famous for its hot springs, which were conferred the title of “Sacred Spring” by the Emperor in the Southern Dynasties (AD 420-589).
Tangshan will first welcome the first leg of FIVB World Beach Volleyball Silk Tour from June 16-18 as a comprehensive rehearsal for the 2017 FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships, which will take place from July 11 to 16.
Nanjing will also host the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Group 1 Finals at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center from August 2 to 6.
