Beach Volleyball News

Bangkok, Thailand, February 5, 2018 – Details of Volleyball House for the Commonwealth Games event to be hosted in April in Australia had been sent out, promising to be an exciting initiative offering accommodation at the beach for the Games, Volleyball events every day, access to ticketing as required on a limited basis (at cost) and an environment to promote our wonderful community of friends and our sport.

Volleyball Australia President Mr Craig Carracher has high hopes that this investment, following the great initiative of FIVB, is well received by all the developing nations and experienced Commonwealth teams across the world.

This event is managed much like a mini Olympic Games with its own international governing body and also local organising committee.

“I am pleased to advise all tickets to beach volleyball are sold out. However we have purchased tickets for every session at  oat price and so will also have tickets available at cost price to our guests at Volleyball House,” Mr Carracher cited.

“The link below is still a beta version and we seek your approval and support for this program.  As you may know Volleyball Australia has had to pay $250,000 to the organising committee GOLDOC to secure the inclusion of beach volleyball and to over part of the hosting cost for the 48 athletes plus officials and coaches. We will be requesting support from our Commonwealth friends and FIVB for the success of these Games and the wonderful qualification process which has already created volleyball heroes in places somewhat new to our sport,” he added.

Mr Carracher hoped that everyone will support the event and also attend and join activations at Volleyball House off the success of FIVB efforts in Rio 2016. He believed this is another major investment by Volleyball Australia and this will ensure beach volleyball will be the most popular sport at the Commonwealth Games in 2018.
