Tehran, Iran, November 4, 2018 – Iranian film director Mohammad Bakhshi has a lifelong passion for volleyball and his “Are You Volleyball?” has won over sixty international awards by signifying volleyball as the language of “Peace” in a short movie.

“Are You Volleyball?” tells the story of a group of Arabian-speaking asylum seekers who arrive in an English-speaking country border and can’t keep going. They conflict with border soldiers every day till a deaf-mute kid becomes a catalyst for better communication between the two groups, using volleyball as a means.

Bakhshi, who has directed several films that have participated in many international film festivals, is going to present a copy of “Are You Volleyball” with an autographed poster to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Switzerland.

The movie was praised by many celebrities including the presidents of Ecuador and China while presenting it in the Birthday party of Nelson Mandela. It was also presented in Japan at Hiroshima Peace Memorial in 2016.

The mayor of Barcelona also found the role of “Are you Volleyball?” very effective through which volleyball was promoted a step higher in the world. He believed the movie is praiseworthy as it is made in Iran where people seek peace.

Bakhshi is a big fan of volleyball and pursues all Iran matches in international tournaments. His inspiration is from his academic thesis in university that was toward “World Peace”. He combined it with his love of volleyball to make it one of the best short movies of the year in the USA.

People of all religions with different languages can reach a common language throughout the world through “volleyball” and those who have passion for the sport should not miss “Are you Volleyball?”

Among the glorious awards, Are  You Volleyball? has won the Best Short Film Award from the Changing Face International Film Festival (CFIFF) in Australia, the Best Film Prize from the Al-Nahj Film Festival in Iraq and Best Film at the BCN Sports Film Festival in Spain.
