{"id":124162,"date":"2023-11-29T17:23:33","date_gmt":"2023-11-29T17:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asianvolleyball.net\/new\/?p=124162"},"modified":"2023-11-29T17:23:33","modified_gmt":"2023-11-29T17:23:33","slug":"strong-anti-doping-and-education-programmes-highlighted-at-medical-commission-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asianvolleyball.net\/new\/strong-anti-doping-and-education-programmes-highlighted-at-medical-commission-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"STRONG ANTI-DOPING AND EDUCATION PROGRAMMES HIGHLIGHTED AT MEDICAL COMMISSION MEETING"},"content":{"rendered":"<style type=\"text\/css\"><\/style><p><strong>Very low number of positive doping cases in 2023 proves the effectiveness of the systems in place<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The FIVB Medical Commission highlighted its latest initiatives during the annual meeting held in a hybrid format, with the Commission President Annie Peytavin and Secretary Bruno Borges da Fonseca joining in person from the FIVB Headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission noted the partnership with the International Testing Agency (ITA) whereby, from the beginning of 2023, the FIVB delegated its operational anti-doping programme to the ITA for independent management. This partnership has strengthened the FIVB anti-doping programme, increasing the number of out-of-competition tests and allowing for in-competition samples to be collected at more competitions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fivb.com\/en\/about\/news\/acing-fair-play-for-volleyball-the-fivb?id=100685\"><b>Acing Fair Play For Volleyball: The FIVB Delegates Its Anti-Doping Testing Programme To The ITA<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Alongside this, the FIVB increased anti-doping educational offering to its stakeholders, including the National Federations. This was achieved through close follow-ups by the FIVB Nutritionist in preparations as well as during the tournaments.<\/p>\n<p>Another important initiative discussed by the Commission during the meeting was the launch of an educational tool on safeguarding, which is set to launch early next year. This tool is aimed at raising awareness of the importance of protecting the athletes and all participants at FIVB events from any kind of harassment and abuse in sport.<\/p>\n<p>Talking at the meeting, FIVB President, Dr Ary S. Gra\u00e7a F\u00b0 said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I have mentioned before, it has been a very successful and busy year for the Commission. As we enter 2024, an Olympic Games year, may you feel today a sense of accomplishment and pride, knowing that your work has helped ensure the health and well-being of the Volleyball Family, and a level playing field for our athletes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must protect clean athletes and clean sport, and we must ensure that health and wellbeing is at the forefront of everything we
