{"id":134129,"date":"2024-09-18T13:50:43","date_gmt":"2024-09-18T13:50:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asianvolleyball.net\/new\/?p=134129"},"modified":"2024-09-18T13:50:43","modified_gmt":"2024-09-18T13:50:43","slug":"craig-carracher-appointed-to-senior-avc-role","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asianvolleyball.net\/new\/craig-carracher-appointed-to-senior-avc-role\/","title":{"rendered":"CRAIG CARRACHER APPOINTED TO SENIOR AVC ROLE"},"content":{"rendered":"<style type=\"text\/css\"><\/style><p><strong>Information and photo courtesy of volleyball.org.au<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Volleyball Australia President Mr Craig Carracher has been appointed to the role of First Senior Executive Vice President of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the continent&#8217;s volleyball-governing body.<\/p>\n<p>The decision came during the recent General Assembly of the AVC with Mr Carracher informed of the appointment last week.<\/p>\n<p>The AVC appointment reflects not only Australia\u2019s standing in Volleyball in the region, but also the experience and vision Mr Carracher has for the development of the sport in Asia, Oceania and the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Confederation has made a judicious decision to appoint Craig to one of the most important roles for the sport in Asia and Oceania,\u201d said Andrew Dee, Volleyball Australia CEO. \u201cCraig is not only a champion for the sport, but is a strong voice for volleyball in Australia and throughout the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe AVC continues to grow in terms of depth and development but there remains so much more opportunity to elevate both volleyball and beach volleyball in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNext year\u2019s Beach Volleyball World Championships are heading to Adelaide, the first time the FIVB has awarded the event to a nation outside Europe or the Americas, which provides a wonderful opportunity for the game not only in Australia but for the whole Asian region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCraig will be a strong voice for all affiliated National Federations to ensure the AVC continues to gain strength and take the game forward at all levels from participation at the grassroots to excelling on the world stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to being appointed AVC First Senior Executive Vice President, Mr Carracher has held a number of senior positions in the AVC and FIVB.
