Ms. Aishath Fatheenath \u2013 Executive Committee Member (Female)<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mohamed Ramiz was also re-elected as the VAM Treasurer.<\/p>\n<p>During the Congress, VAM President Mohamed Latheef proposed Mr Mohamed Saeed for the position of General Secretary, which was unanimously approved by the Executive Committee.<\/p>\n<p>In his opening address, Mr Latheef welcomed the Members and expressed gratitude for their contributions to volleyball in the Maldives. He highlighted the achievements of VAM in 2024 and emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in advancing the sport. He also extended appreciation to key stakeholders, including FIVB President Mr Fabio Azevedo, AVC President Mr Ramon Suzara, the Maldivian Minister of Sports Mr Abdulla Rafiu, Commissioner of Sports Mr Mohamed Tholal, and President Dr Mohamed Muizzu for their continuous support.<\/p>\n<p>In his closing remarks, Mr Latheef congratulated the newly elected Members and reiterated the importance of strengthening sport at both the national and international levels. He urged the Committee to focus on competing in global tournaments and bringing home medals. Acknowledging the support of CAVA, AVC, and FIVB, he thanked FIVB Director for Asia &amp; Oceania Mr Luis Alexandre Rodrigues for observing the Congress online.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Latheef reaffirmed VAM\u2019s commitment to working closely with the Maldivian Government to develop and promote volleyball, ensuring that future generations benefit from the association\u2019s efforts.<\/p>\n<p>The VAM Extraordinary Congress was observed online by:<\/p>\n<p>Mr Luis Alexandre Rodrigues \u2013 FIVB Director for Asia &amp; Oceania<\/p>\n<p>Ms Maryam Hessaby Dehbaneh (Sarah) \u2013 SEC Chairman of CAVA<\/p>\n<p>Physical observers included:<\/p>\n<p>1. Mr Abdulla Zuhair \u2013 CAVA Secretariat Director<\/p>\n<p>The election process was conducted by a five-member Electoral Committee appointed for the purpose.<\/p>\n<p>With a strong and dedicated team in place, the Volleyball Association of Maldives is set to continue its mission of promoting and developing volleyball across the country.
