{"id":57963,"date":"2021-03-14T15:02:28","date_gmt":"2021-03-14T15:02:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asianvolleyball.net\/new\/?p=57963"},"modified":"2021-03-14T15:02:28","modified_gmt":"2021-03-14T15:02:28","slug":"clean-sweep-for-mchugh-and-schumann-at-australian-beach-volleyball-tour-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asianvolleyball.net\/new\/clean-sweep-for-mchugh-and-schumann-at-australian-beach-volleyball-tour-final\/","title":{"rendered":"CLEAN SWEEP FOR MCHUGH AND SCHUMANN AT AUSTRALIAN BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOUR FINAL"},"content":{"rendered":"<style type=\"text\/css\"><\/style><p><strong>Credit: volleyballaustralia.org.au, Volleyball Australia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bangkok, Thailand, March 14, 2021 &#8211; Reigning Commonwealth Games champions Chris McHugh and Damien Schumann made a clean sweep of the four-stage Australian Beach Volleyball Tour, taking gold in today\u2019s final.<\/p>\n<p>The Adelaide based duo returned to the beach that delivered them Commonwealth Games glory to produce a convincing win over second seed Max Guehrer and Zachery Schubert, 2-0 (21-15, 21-16).<\/p>\n<p>Schumann said the high calibre of talent coming through the men\u2019s ranks made every round of the Tour a hard fought contest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone\u2019s been playing so well this summer, we\u2019ve had so many challenging games even our pool games have been tight. It\u2019s great that the standard of the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour has been so high all summer,\u201d said Schumann.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s cool to be back on this beach also for me personally as well. So happy to be able to do it with Chris, and get a few good results and enjoy ourselves &#8211; it\u2019s been really good,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>McHugh praised silver medalist Guehrer and Schubert who pushed the veterans all season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey (Max and Zac) played really good, they came out hard as they knew they would.
