Songkhla, Thailand, April 12, 2015 – FIVB and AVC Life Honorary President Mr Wei Jizhong received a warm welcome and a flower garland upon his arrival at BP Samila Beach Hotel & Resort in Songkhla on Sunday.

Mr Wei Jizhong arrived in Songkhla at the same time as a team of the FIVB’s officials in their efforts of testing the Video Challenge System here during the 16th “Samila-Chang” AVC Beach Volleyball Tour Samila Open at Samila Beach in Songkhla from April 14 to 16. The main objectives of the test are to check if an on-going process has been completely set up and if the system will work properly prior to the start of this year’s FIVB World Tour, in which the full-scale Challenge System will be used.

Additionally, Mr Wei Jizhong will also be in Thailand to attend a special meeting on April 18 to consider the marketing and sponsorship deals proposed to the AVC by interested companies. The AVC’s contract with IEC in Sports, which is now holding the AVC’s TV rights and marketing, will expire at the end of this December. Those expected to join the meeting include AVC Dr Saleh A. Bin Nasser and Mr Essa Hamza Ahmad Al Failakawi, FIVB Board of Administration Member and AVC’s First Vice-President.
