Bangkok, Thailand, October 27, 2015 – The FIVB Referees’ Refresher Course is being held between October 27 and 31 at the FIVB Development Centre Bangkok, Thailand in Ramkhamhaeng University, with Mr Somporn Chaibangyang, president of the Thailand Volleyball Association, presiding over the opening ceremony on Tuesday.
The theoretical and practical components of the five-day course are directed by FIVB Referee Delegate Mr Songsak Chareonpong and instructed by Mr Thomas Chang from Hong Kong.
A total of 18 referees comprising three from Hong Kong, one from Japan and 14 from Thailand including four women participated in the course, which aims at training national and international referees aside from improving and updating referees’ knowledge and competence of volleyball and beach volleyball rules, according to the most recent trends of both sporting events. All participants showed their enthusiasm and great interest to use the course as way to improve their performances.
“By expressing your comments and exchanging point of view among one another during your attendance in the course, I’m convinced that you will be fulfilled. I wish all of you a nice stay in Bangkok and a great success in the course,” Mr Somporn Chaibangyang delivered his welcome address during the opening ceremony on Tuesday.
