Bangkok, Thailand, October 31, 2015 – The FIVB Referees’ Refresher Course, which started at the FIVB Development Centre in Bangkok on October 27, was concluded on Saturday, with a total of 18 candidates accomplishing the five-day course.

Mr Somporn Chaibangyang, president of the Thailand Volleyball Association, presided over the closing ceremony and presented certificates to all candidates comprising 14 Thais, three from Hong Kong and one from Japan.

The development course was conducted theoretically and practically at the FIVB Development Centre located inside Ramkhamhaeng University, with Mr Songsak Chareonpong being the Course Director and Course Instructor and Mr Thomas Chang another Course Instructor.

Also attending the closing ceremony on October 31 as guests of honour were AVC Secretary General Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, Dr Chai Nimakorn, director of the FIVB Development Centre Bangkok, Thailand, and TVA Secretary General Mr Jaksuwan Tocharoen.

“I would like to congratulate all course participants who gathered here to learn latest techniques and tactics from highly-experienced Mr Songsak and Mr Thomas Chang. To exchange your points of view while attending the course will also help you clearly understand what you have learned so far,” Mr Somporn said in his closing speech.

“Upon your return back home, all of you will bring the knowledge obtained in the course for future use and good memories you had while staying here. I wish you a pleasant trip back home. We are very delighted to welcome all of you when you make another return back to Thailand. Last but not least, I would like to thank all of you to play an important role in making the course another successful one in Thailand.”
