Tehran, Iran, November 4, 2015 – The Iranian Women’s Premier League is ready to embark on a new season that will showcase eight club teams starting on November 19, when the preliminary round will take place in one round of home-and-away matches, followed by the playoff round.

The 14th edition of the league will have the top women’s club teams such as Saipa, Paykan, Urmia Shahrdari, Tabriz Shahrdari, Fars, Zob Ahan, Daneshgah Azad and Tehran Gas.

At the national federation’s League Council meeting on September 30, the council devised the facilities to be used by the participating clubs in the Premier League starting on November 19 and League One, which is set to open on December 9. The first priority of the Iran Volleyball Federation is to promote women’s volleyball by way of an effective facility planning to entice active clubs to form more women’s volleyball club teams.

The drawing ceremony then took place on October 20 with the presence of the national federation Women’s Vice-President, Ms Zohreh Mirsepasi, league president Mr Manouchehr Pourhasan, and the representatives of the eight club teams.

Last year, the Women’s Super League took place with six clubs, including the top three finishers Daneshgah Azad, Isfahan Zob Ahan and Tehran Gas.
