Tehran, Iran, March 5, 2017 – Tehran Paykan pulled off a dramatic 3-1 win over Urmia Shahrdari to next go up against Sarmayeh Bank in the final showdown of the Iranian Men’s Super League on Sunday.

The semi-finals had the challenge of third match of Urmia Shahrdari and Tehran Paykan, both hungry for victory in the match to next be pitted against defending champions Sarmayeh Bank, in the showdown. Urmia Shahrdari which lost their head coach Travica due to the team’s financial problem, performed such high in a way that in play-off against Paykan recorded 1-1 win. The third match heated up for both sides as either needed a vital winning point to get closer to the trophy.

Finally, Marouf’s team were successful in brushing off Urmia Shahrdari 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 18-25, 25-19) in a thriller which lasted exhausting135 minutes to keep 800 interested spectators on the verge of their seat at Volleyball House.

The Sarmayeh Bank’s players and the new head coach of Iran, Igor Kolakovic were also at the venue to watch this match.

The final round will take place on Wednesday, March 8 which will see Tehran Paykan revive their rivalry with reigning champions Sarmayeh Bank. The final match summed up into three matches having the best team as the champions.
