Ulanbaataar, Mongolia, May 22, 2017 – The AVC Eastern Zonal Volleyball Association Annual Conference 2017 came to a successful close on Monday morning at Bayangol Hotel of Ulanbaataar.
All eight member federations sent delegates to attend the conference, which started at 9:00am and was presided by Mr. Cai Yi, President of AVC Eastern Zone.
In his opening speech, Mr. Cai Yi thanked Mongolia Volleyball Association for hosting the Eastern Zonal Championship and the annual conference.
Mr Bayatbaatar Tsendsuren, President of Mongolian Volleyball Association, was guest of honour at the meeting and welcomed all the delegates. “2017 is the 90th anniversary of the development of volleyball in Mongolia and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian Volleyball Association. We would like to express our sincere thanks to AVC for granting the Championship and Meeting to Mongolia, which is a great contribution to Mongolia Volleyball Association. I wish the Conference a big success.”
Mr. Yim Hyungbin, Honorary Life President of AVC Eastern Zone addressed in his speech, “It is my fourth time to be in Mongolia. Mongolia has become my second home. I would like to thank Mongolia Volleyball Association as they are the most often to organize the Eastern Zonal Championship since the first edition in 1998.”
The meeting first confirmed Zhangjiagang City of China as the host for the AVC Eastern Zone Women’s Volleyball Championship 2018 and Chinese Taipei as the candidate for 2019 Men’s Championship.
Mr. Cai Yi and Dr. Eom Hanjoo, technical delegate of AVC Eastern Zone, also requested Japan and DPR Korea to consider hosting the Championship in 2019 and 2020.
Dr. Eom Hamjoo explained the qualification system from AVC Eastern Zone to FIVB and AVC competitions as there is 16-team limit for AVC and QT for FIVB events. He also made an introduction on AVC’s plan to have two divisions of the Championship.
It was suggested that if any NF interested in organizing any kind of seminars, they should send official letter to AVC and the Eastern Zonal Association will do their best to support.
It was also reminded that all the NFs shall pay their annual member fee to AVC in time or AVC will block their entry to AVC tournaments.
At last, Mr. Cai asked each NF to undertake more responsibilities, to work together to improve our levels and to organize more activities in the future.
