Ardabil, Iran, May 4, 2017 – Japan continued their winning streak at the SMM 2nd Asian Men’s U23 Volleyball Championship on Thursday after a 3-0 (25-17 25-17 25-17) demolition of Kazakhstan.

Japan’s serves went on target as they messed the defence lines of Kazakhstan. Although fielding several substitutions including Oleg Kuznetsov to improve their fortunes, the Kazakhs found Japan an impossible nut to crack. Terrific jump serves by captain Taishi of Japan made it difficult for the towering players of Kazakhstan to counter-attack.

Fumitoshi Tokunaga, head coach of Japan, said after the match: “We analyzed five tall players of Kazakhstan who were the main threat for us in this match. On Friday, we have to keep our watchful eyes on Chinese Taipei’s reception. Their reception is one of the key factors we should not ignore.”
