Macau, Macau, July 16, 2017 – China achieved a victory at FIVB World Grand Prix Pool E1 in Sendai after subduing USA
3-2 (25-27, 25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 15-11), taking revenge for the 3-0 sweep by the Americans last week.

USA Madison Kingdon scored a match high 23 points and her teammate Kelly Murphy did shine too with 22 points but it was China who finally emerged victorious with Xinyue Yuan scoring 21 points followed by Ting Zhu with 19.

China coach An Jiajie: I am very happy with my team’s victory against a very strong USA team today. This weekend Zhu Ting has done a very great job, recovering after every match. And this is extremely critical for us as we prepared to combat the fast-paced and highly-intense playing style of the USA team. Overall I think we improved a lot in our attack and defense. Our spikers and middle-blocker did a tremendous job. However, we still need to work on our reception shown by our performance throughout the weekend.

China captain Zhu Ting: We attacked well today and our blocking has significantly improved compared to last week’s match in Kunshan. I think this is a good all-round performance from our team.
