Manila, Philippines, August 10, 2017 – Korea’s favourite player and team captain Kim Yeon-koung still did not see action in their second game on Thursday in the SMM 19th Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex here.

But despite of it, the Koreans still managed to crush Sri Lanka in three straight sets 25-14, 24-17, 25-13.

According to Kim, it is Korean coach Hong Sungjin’s decision to let her seat on the bench while watching her younger teammates play against Sri Lankans.

“It is the coach’s decision to put younger players against them. It is also his decision if he can let me play tomorrow or not,” said Kim.

She also revealed that she is unsure if she can play tomorrow or even the next games.

The former Asian Games MVP last saw in action in FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix and made an amazing performance against teams like Poland.

Meanwhile, Hwang Minkyoung led the Koreans with 16 points, alongside with her 14 spikes.
