arkhan Uul, Mongolia, August 30, 2017 – The “Gender Equality Volleyball” Championship was successfully wrapped up on August 20 in Darkhan Uul, the second largest city of Mongolia.

This five-day competition was regarded as a friendly match between volleyball fans and former volleyball players, gathering from different parts of Mongolia such as South Gobi, Govi Altai and Khuvsgul. A strong field of 19 teams (per gender) participated in this Volley for All Championships in two age categories. This competition had attracted volleyball fans of all ages, with the oldest players including Mrs. Marta B with 65 years old in the women’s event and Mr.Chuluunbaatar N with 73 years old in the men’s event. Also the 1st national women’s team of 1962 World Championships attended and enjoyed the match.

2017 is a remarkable year for Mongolia volleyball. It is the 90th anniversary of the development of volleyball in Mongolia and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolia Volleyball Association. Back to 25th of May, Ulaanbaatar of Mongolia concluded the 2017 Asian Eastern Zonal Men’s Volleyball Championship with Japan successfully retaining their title, with Chinese Taipei and Korea in second and third places.
