Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, August 23, 2017 – Terrific Rivan Nurmulki scored a match-high 26 points to help Indonesia win a dramatic 3-1 (25-21 23-25 35-33 25-21) victory over Philippines in the 29th South East Asian Games Men’s Volleyball Championship at the MITEC Hall 11 on Wednesday.

Last week, Indonesia performed exceptionally well to stun powerhouses Iran and Qatar and made history by advancing to the top four teams of the Asian Senior Men’s Championship on home soil in Surabaya for the first time. With such an incredible performance, Indonesia have their sights firmly set on winning the SEA Games title in Malaysia in eight years since they had last captured the laurels in 2009 in Vientiane, Laos.

Rivan Nurmulki scored a team-high 26 points for Indonesia including 23 kills from 39 attempts,while Rendy Febriant Tamamilang contributed 25 points for the winning team. Abdilla Alnakran Dalmino led the Philippines with 21 points from 15 kills and 6 blocks. John Vic Ortiz De Guzman added 18 attack points to the team’s tally.
