Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, August 23, 2017 – Vietnam proved their superiority over Timor Leste to thrash the inexperienced rivals in comfortable straight sets 25-8 25-13 25-11 to claim their second win at the 29th South East Asian Games Men’s Volleyball Championship at the MITEC Hall 11 on Wednesday.
Vietnam, silver medallists at the previous Games in Singapore two years ago, have already won their first encounter in the Kuala Lumpur Games following a straight-set win over Philippines. In this match, Nguyen Hoang Thuong scored a team-high 17 points for Vietnam from 14 kills, 2 blocks and 1 ace. Ngo Van Kieu contributed 11 points including 9 kills. Correia Adriano led Timor Leste with 7 points from his powerful attacks.
Vietnam will next take on Indonesia, while Timor Leste will go up against Philippines.
