Ljubljana, Slovenia, September 13, 2017 – All players, coaches, team managers, referees and officials at the 2017 FIVB Women’s U23 World Championship attended a seminar here today on the Prevention of Competition Manipulation, presented by the International Olympic Committee and Interpol in cooperation with the FIVB.

The aim of the seminar was to inform and help all participants to recognise, resist and report competition manipulation by raising awareness about the scope and scale of competition manipulation as a global phenomenon and the risks related to sports betting.

The seminar, held in morning and afternoon sessions on this rest day from competition so as to accommodate the 144 players plus team staff and officials, explained how participants can prevent and respond to competition manipulation and outlined the rules in place to protect the integrity of volleyball.
