Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, November 9, 2017 – The Advanced Volleyball Coaches Course (National Coaching Program) came to a successful conclusion at the Al-Reyath Leaders Training Centre in Saudi Arabia on November 2, with Dr. Ibrahim Babtean, President of Saudi Arabian Volleyball Federation. presiding over the closing ceremony.

The FIVB-accredited Coaches Course Instructor Mr Shihab Al Riyami Ahmed from Oman, former secretary of the AVC Coaches Committee, theoretically and practically conducted the development course, which started on October 22, 2017. A total of 25 candidates including former national Saudi Arabian players, volleyball coaches from different Clubs, Universities, Physical Education teachers and Military took part in the 12-day seminar, which was organised by the Saudi Arabian Volleyball Federation.

Also attending the closing ceremony as guests of honours on November 2 were Mr Ali Alhtealy, Chairman of Training and Coaches Committee, and the SAVF Executive Manager Mr Bader Alseif.

In his closing speech, SAVF President Dr Ibrahim said, “The Federation has a great plan in developing volleyball coaches and increasing the number of qualified national trainers and coaches through local and international courses. With these qualified coaches, we can improve standard of our players and set a higher target for our future tournaments.”

Mr Ali added, “It’s a great opportunity to invite one of the FIVB Instructors who had a great effort in developing volleyball coaches in GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and Asian zone. We also have planned to join hands with Mr Shihab to build up a coaching  program and enhance training centres in the near future.”

At the end of the closing ceremony, SAVF President Dr Ibrahim presented souvenirs to the FIVB Instructor Mr Shihab Al Riyami aside from giving away certificates to all course participants.
