Lausanne, Switzerland, April 23, 2018 – Excitement is building for the start of the Volleyball Nations League next month, with ticket sales for the FIVB’s brand new event in full swing.
From May 15 to July 8, the Volleyball Nations League will showcase the 16 best national teams for each gender as each nation battles it out to become the first-ever Volleyball Nations League champion.
Once the Preliminary Round is complete, the top five teams will join the hosts for the Finals. The women’s Finals will take place in Nanjing, China, whilst the men’s competition will be held in Lille, France.
Considered to be the most revolutionary concept in the sport in the last decade, the Volleyball Nations League is set to change the future of volleyball. The FIVB continues to push the boundaries of engagement and technological innovation, and fans will be at the heart of the action. As well as live statistics and advanced instant replay angles, the courtside DJ will ensure the crowds are as hyped up as the players.
The FIVB aims to be the world’s number one family sport, and its focus on fan engagement has led to overwhelmingly positive feedback. The customised dance moves help new fans to follow the dramatic narrative of each match, learning more about the technical skill of the sport, whilst enjoying the family-friendly, party atmosphere.
