HOJIN FIRES 19 ATTACKES IN KOREA’S 3-1 WIN OVER JAPAN
Tabriz, Iran, June 30, 2018 – Korea demolished their rivals’ defense from the attack line recording 3-1 (26-24, 21-25, 25-23, 25-20) win over Japan in the Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship on Saturday at Poursharifi Gymnasium.
Shin Hojin added 19 attacks, 1 block to his 1 ace leading Korea in scoring, while Japan’s Mizumachi made 22 markers on a losing effort.
Korea capitalized on their strong serve, unleashing three aces at the start of the first set. Korea continued to score from the spiking line as Shin Hojin netted 6 points. Japan bounced back in the second set led by Mizumachi and Shigeto who scored 5 points apiece in the set. However, Korea found their rhythm again and secured the third set victory 25-23 using the service faults of Japanese youth. Korea entered the court with a winning attitude and led the first TTO 8-6 leaving Japan behind 25-20.
“We lost the second set because of the lack of confidence. We act much focused today and we won. Out first target in this tournament is to earn the world ticket.” Kang Sooyoung, Korea coach said.
