BRILLIANT SUTTHIPHONG SHINES IN THAILAND’S WIN OVER TAIPEI
Tabriz, Iran, July 1, 2018 – Sutthiphong Donlakkham highlighted Thailand’s impressive depth with a spectacular performance against Chinese Taipei to complete the pool preliminary phase on a high note in the Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship on Saturday at Poursharifi Gymnasium.
Having lost the opening match against Iran, Thailand refreshed their power and seized the opportunity to be standout in match against Chinese Taipei in straight sets 25-23, 25-21, 25-21.
Thailand received strong efforts from their players, including Natthavuth Daengmanee (14 points) and Detchawat Jaengsawang (10 points).
Chinese Taipei attempted to engineer a brave comeback after two sets down but their fortunes turned when Thailand left them behind 4-0 in the third set to let them walk away from concentration and finally finished 25-21.
“We have reduced our mistakes in this match. We were good at our digs, attacks and blocks. Yesterday, we watched the match of Chinese Taipei against Iran which helped us today,” Thailand head coach Janewit Ocha-umphawan said.
“My players were tired and could not rest today. Jackman feels pain in his leg and shoulder and could not play well today,” Chinese Taipei coach Wang Teng-Chi commented after the match.
