CHINESE TAIPEI KICK OFF ASIAN MEN’S U20 CHAMPIONSHIP WITH 3-0 WIN
Manama, Bahrain, July 21, 2018 – Chinese Taipei demolished Saudi Arabia in a straight-set 25-18 25-19 25-19 win to seal the opening victory in the Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship at Isa Sport City Hall on Saturday.
AVC President Dr Saleh A. Bin Nasser also presided over the opening match on Saturday to watch the Saudi Arabians play a tough match against Chinese Taipei. With a better teamwork and performance, Chinese Taipei won the match comfortably to next challenge Pakistan on Sunday, while the losing side will have a rest.
Yu-Sheng Chang led Chinese Taipei with 18 points from 9 attacks, 8 blocks and one ace serve, while Saudi Arabia’s Jawad Alkhawaher made 6 markers on a losing effort.
“We capitalized on our receptions and attacks to beat Saudi Arabia. From youth age group, we have only our captain who is experienced playing in Asia but the other players are all newcomers.” Chinese Taipei coach Chung-Kuei Yeh said.
