25TH YOUTH NATIONAL VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR MEN AND WOMEN COMES TO FRUITFUL END IN INDIA

Bangkok, Thailand, December 26, 2022 – The 25th Youth National (Under-21) Volleyball Championship for Men and Women ended on a high note at Panna Juggle Kishore Stadium in Panna Madhya Pradesh, India on December 22, with more than 12,000 people attending the final match.

Four ministers from the Madhya Pradesh Government, Shri. Vishnu Dutt Sharma Member of Parliament and State President of Bharatiya Janata Party Madhya Pradesh as well as many officials form Madhya Pradesh Government and Volleyball Federation of India attended the final day activities.

The Madhya Pradesh State Volleyball Association conducted the Youth National (Under-21) Championship in very good manner. The Selection Committee members, G.E.Sridharan Arjuna & Dronacharya Awardee, National Coach and AVC Coaches Committee Member, and Mr Birsingh Yadav, Indian Youth team coach, jointly selected 36 men’s players for the Indian U21 World Championship training camp which starts from the first week of February 2023.

The other Selection Committee members, Mr Pritham Singh Chauhan and Viral Shah, selected 24 women’s players from this championship to participate in various international-level tournaments in the year 2023.

All the arrangements to conduct this championship from December 16 to 22 including taking care of players and officials had been made by the Shri. Vishnu Dutt Sharma Member of Parliament and State President of Bharatiya Janata Party. Sanjay Misra IAS Collector of Panna and Dharm Raj IPS Super dent of police of Panna city, Madhya Pradesh Amateur Volleyball Association President Mr. Rudhra Pratap Singh, MLA, Former Member of parliament Govt of India and General Secretary, Shri Hari Singh Chauhan and Shravan Misra coordinator of this championship.

The Control Committee Chairman Mr Sunil Tiwari, Treasure Volleyball Federation of India, Mr Vijay Pal Singh, VFI Senior Vice President, and other VFI members also had taken keen interest to conduct this championship in a great manner.

   

The ultimate aim of Volleyball Federation of India in staging the 25th Youth National Under-21 Volleyball Championship was to take very much care on young players to develop their performance ahead of the participation in the forthcoming FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 and Men’s Under-21 World Championships to be held in 2023.

   

The President of Volleyball Federation of India, Dr Achuyuta Samanta, Founder KIIT & KISS University, VFI Secretary General Mr Anil Chaudhary, President here along with Mr Ramavathar Singh Jakhar, Executive Zonal Vice President representing AVC Central Zone, himself Member of AVC Board of Administration and AVC Finance Committee, witnessed the final day matches.

In terms of competition results, Gujarat captured the men’s team gold, with Haryana, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh in respective second, third and fourth places.

The women’s team event was won by West Bengal. Rajasthan, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu finished second, third and fourth places respectively.
