Dar Kulaib stamped their authority over the 2022-2023 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League following a 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-22) rout of Al Najima in their second game of the best-of-three championship series, thus completing a two-game sweep on Tuesday, April 4 in front of a mass audience at the packed Isa bin Rashid Arena at BVA Headquarters at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Following the sensational victory, Dar Kulaib claimed their third crown in the history of the Bahrain’s topflight volleyball league. They had previously won the 2015-2016 and 2018-2019 seasons, when they respectively defeated Al Nasser and Muharraq in the finals. Earlier this week, Al Ahli had already claimed the third place and bronze medals.
Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Volleyball Association, and Sheikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and President of the Bahrain Table Tennis Association, jointly presided over the awards presentation on Tuesday.
Members of the Board of Directors of the association and representatives of both clubs also attended the ceremony.
In the awards presentation, Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Sheikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa presented Dar Kulaib players with gold medals and the trophy of the Issa Bin Rashid Volleyball League. Second place Al Najima took home silver medals.
