15 athlete candidates are up for election by their fellow players this month
The 2024 FIVB Athletes’ Commission Elections will be held from 16-30 September through a secure independent voting platform, as 15 volleyball and beach volleyball athletes submitted their candidatures for the prestigious position.
Officially launched during the Olympic Games Rio 2016 at the Volleyball House, the FIVB Athletes’ Commission is composed of ten members, five of whom are elected by the players and five appointed by the FIVB Board of Administration. In addition, the FIVB Athletes’ Commission ensures equal gender representation in its membership, and the same number of representatives from volleyball and beach volleyball.
Later this month, elections will be held through a secure LUMI voting platform with 15 candidates (7 males and 8 females) standing for a place on the FIVB Athletes’ Commission for the 2024-2028 term. All eligible voters will be contacted by LUMI on 16 September with clear instructions on how to cast their ballots, selecting the representatives who will advocate for their interests over the next four years.
