FIVB off to a roaring start in its work to empower the Global Volleyball Movement
The Empowering the Global Volleyball Movement leaflet has been published today, showcasing the whirlwind of activity in the month that followed the election of FIVB President Fabio Azevedo on 16 November 2024 at the 39th FIVB World Congress in Porto, Portugal.
The FIVB has hit the ground running to advance the goals of the FIVB Strategic Vision 2032 and serve the Global Volleyball Movement through professionalism, integration empowerment and mass participation with the motto Together as One.

From hosting the first-ever Global Volleyball Summit and convening the new Board of Administration on the first day following the elections to collaborating with stakeholders across the Olympic and Global Volleyball Movements, work is already well underway.
At the beginning of December, a groundbreaking series of volleyball-focused initiatives in Qatar showcased the sport’s potential to empower, inspire and elevate women and youth across the region. Highlights included, the ‘Women in Sports: Creating Pathways’ Seminar, a FIVB Volleyball Foundation initiative, the inaugural WAVA U20 Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship and much, much more.
