Doha, Qatar, February 6, 2025 – Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) President Ramon Suzara paid an official visit to the headquarters of the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) and the West Asian Volleyball Association (WAVA) to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and further develop volleyball in the region.
During his visit, the AVC President held meetings with key officials, including Mr Ali bin Ghanem Al-Kuwari, President of both the Qatar and West Asian Volleyball Associations, Mr Yousef Ahmed Kano, QVA Secretary General, Mr Saeed Salem Al-Jumaani, Assistant Secretary General, and Board Members Mr Mohammed Salem Al-Kuwari, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Naama and Mr Saeed Jumah Al-Hitmi. Also in attendance was the association’s Technical Expert Mr Hussein Imam.
The discussions focused on upcoming championships, ways to enhance cooperation between AVC and the Qatar and West Asian Volleyball Associations, and strategies to further develop the sport at the regional and international levels. The visit also included a tour of QVA facilities, including its headquarters and volleyball arena, where the AVC delegation observed the available infrastructure and resources dedicated to supporting the sport’s growth.
At the conclusion of the visit, commemorative plaques were exchanged between Mr Ali bin Ghanem Al-Kuwari and AVC President Suzara. The QVA presented two honorary shields to the AVC President – one on behalf of QVA and the other from WAVA – along with commemorative gifts in appreciation of the strong relationship between the associations.
This visit highlighted the Qatar and West Asian Volleyball Associations’ commitment to strengthening international relations and fostering the development of volleyball in the region, ultimately contributing to the growth of the sport and expanding its player base both regionally and globally.
