Bangkok, Thailand, March 13, 2025 – The AVC Finance Committee met on Thursday to discuss AVC activities and financial situations and ensure that relevant financial affairs are conducted in a professional and very transparent manner.
Chairman Mr Terry Sasser from Marshall Islands and Secretary Mr Chia-Min Chong from Singapore as well as Mr Osama Abdulla Abdulkhaliq Gargash from United Arab Emirates and Ms Lee Yuk Fung from Hong Kong, China joined on Zoom.
AVC President Mr Ramon Suzara, AVC Secretary General Mr Hugh Graham, AVC Treasurer Mrs Marina Tsui from Hong Kong, China and AVC Secretariat Director Ms Phenyada Fuengthanthip attended the meeting onsite at the AVC Headquarters in Bangkok. Mr Mohamed Latheef from Maldives was unable to join due to his medical energency of the family.

Ahead of the meeting, AVC President Mr Ramon Suzara delivered a welcome address to all participants.
“I am very delighted to welcome you all to this first AVC Finance Committee Meeting. This is the first meeting following the recent Election and I extend my warm congratulations to all newly-appointed members. Your dedication and expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy of AVC. The financial stability for the Confederation is to maintain the continued success of our events, the development program and all operations including the purchase of the New AVC House in the next four months,” Mr Suzara was quoted as saying in his speech.

“Today, I think it’s valuable opportunity for us to collaborate, discuss and develop the role of the financial plan. I encourage each of you to actively participate by sharing your insights and constructive feedbacks. Your inputs will be instrumental in showing this auspicious occasion for sources and the long term financial health of AVC. I look forward to productive discussion and successful meeting,” the AVC President added.

After that, the Agenda was approved and Members acknowledged the Minutes of the 2024 AVC Finance Committee Meeting, while Mrs Sasiwimon Suksai, Auditor of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, reported with the financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2024 and all taxes concerned.

During the meeting, the 2025 Financial Budget in terms of revenue and expenditure was raised for further discussion, with the Statement of Cash Flow for the year 2024 taken for consideration. The situation of AVC sponsorship for 2025 was also reported and discussed.

AVC President Mr Suzara informed the meeting that AVC is officially served in Thailand and so has to pay taxes including VAT and annual fees. “We bought the property already to ensure the new AVC House in the next four-month time. In the past, AVC was attached to Thailand Volleyball Association, but now AVC has the independent legal entity already in Thailand.
