At the same time, in the other two opening games of the championship, Argentina will meet Canada in a Pool A fixture, while Italy and Czechia will cross swords in an all-European Pool C duel.

The United States, U19 world champions from two years ago and junior NORCECA champions from last year, will get into action at 13:00 (06:00) with a Pool B match against Korea. Meanwhile, U20 European champions Turkiye will start their Pool C campaign against Algeria.

Brazil, the winners of last year’s junior continental championship in South America, will take on Bulgaria in the Pool D opening match, starting at 16:00 (09:00).

The last time slot on opening day, starting at 19:00 (12:00), will be highlighted by the debut of hosts Indonesia against fellow South East Asians Vietnam in a Pool A game. Meanwhile, African U20 champions Tunisia will serve off their participation with a Pool D fixture against Thailand.

The same four time slots, with three matches each, will apply on all pool-stage competition days, except for the second day on August 8, when the games will start at 09:00 (02:00), 14:00 (07:00), 17:00 (10:00) and 20:00 (13:00). The pool stage will continue through August 12, with a rest day on August 10. In what is probably the most anticipated clash of the first phase of the competition, USA and China will go head to head on the last day, August 12, at 10:00 (03:00).

The top four teams in the final standings of each six-team pool will continue their quest for world honors in the elimination rounds leading up to the medal matches on August 17. The rest will continue their participation in the playoffs for the distribution of the places from 17th to 24th. All 24 teams will go through the respective number of playoff rounds (direct up-or-down matches) to fill all the places from first to 24th in the final competition standings.
