Bangkok, Thailand, June 9, 2025 – The Southeast Asia Volleyball Association (SAVA) celebrated another significant milestone as representatives from all 11 member federations attended the SAVA Board of Administration Meeting, which was held in a hybrid format at the Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel on Monday. This full attendance highlighted the strong commitment to regional collaboration and the sustainable development of volleyball across Southeast Asia.

Chaired by SAVA President Mr Somporn Chaibangyang, who also serves as President of the Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA), the one-day meeting brought together a full complement of SAVA Board of Administration Members from across the region. Among the attendees were Ex Officio Members: Mr Heyzer Harsono (Indonesia), also AVC Executive Vice President, SAVA Vice President Mr Tran Duc Phan (Vietnam) and Mr Thiti Pluckcha-oom (Thailand).

Other distinguished participants included Mr Raditia Darwis (Indonesia), Mr Donaldo Caringal (Philippines), Dr Aing Serey Piseth (Cambodia), Mr Mohd Hardie (Brunei), Ms Bernadina Guterres (Timor-Leste), SAVA Treasurer Mr Thein Win (Myanmar) and SAVA Secretary General Mr Chansamone Phongchanhtha (Laos).

Mr Somporn warmly welcomed all delegates, with AVC President Mr Ramon Suzara joining remotely to deliver the opening address via Zoom. His remarks inspired a productive atmosphere, encouraging SAVA to use the gathering as a platform for planning, collaboration, and the continued growth of volleyball and beach volleyball in the region.

Mr Suzara emphasized the importance of unity and foresight to ensure sustained success for both SAVA and AVC activities, concluding with his best wishes for a fruitful meeting.

Following the approval of the agenda and previous minutes, the meeting reviewed key proposals and updates from both the FIVB and AVC. Delegates also received progress reports on upcoming SAVA events, notably the 5th SEA V League for both men’s and women’s competitions.
Preparations for the 5th SEA V League were a central focus. The men’s competition will commence with the first and second weeks scheduled for July in the Philippines and Indonesia, respectively. The women’s event will follow in August, with Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, hosting the opening week, and Ninh Binh, Vietnam, hosting the second.
With its full membership present and actively engaged, the SAVA Board of Administration Meeting reinforced the collective commitment to elevating volleyball throughout Southeast Asia.
