Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China is holding the FIVB Coaches Course Level I” from July 7 to 11, 2025 (Monday to Friday) at Christian Alliance International School of Hong Kong. The course has attracted volleyball coaches from eight countries and regions, including China, Hong Kong China, Macau China, Japan, Australia, Mongolia, the Philippines, and Singapore.
This is the fifth time FIVB Coaches Course has been held in Hong Kong ,following previous courses in 1990, 1996, and 2024 for Level I, and a Level II course in 1992.
The FIVB Coaches Course Level I is conducted by FIVB instructor Dr Christian Kroger of Germany. Dr Kroger has extensive teaching experience, having coached various volleyball teams in Germany and universities.
He has been an FIVB Instructor since 1984, teaching in countries such as Vietnam, Kuwait, and Indonesia. He has overseen more than 30 FIVB Coaches Courses and has written over 20 books and 50 articles related to volleyball coaching. The first FIVB coaching instructor in Hong Kong, Mr Jason Mak, serves as the Assistant Instructor.
On the first day of classes, an Opening Ceremony had been held on July 7 with distinguished guests including Ms Lee Yuk Shan, Rossetti, Director of Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China, Gordon Wong, Representative from MT Sportswear, Mr Yip Po Lam and Mr Chan Shiu Ki Edward, Chairpersons of Coaching Commission of Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China in attendance to jointly kick off the five-day course.
