Bangkok, Thailand, September 18, 2025 – The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) is delighted to announce that, effective today, September 18, the Nuvali Sand Courts in the Philippines have been officially recognized as an FIVB Beach Volleyball Center of Excellence. This landmark recognition underscores the venue’s pivotal role in nurturing talented players and hosting prestigious AVC and FIVB beach volleyball events, marking a new chapter in the growth of beach volleyball across the continent.
The Memorandum of Understanding was jointly signed on Thursday by FIVB President Mr Fabio Azevedo, Philippine National Volleyball Federation President Mr Ramon Suzara, who also serves as the AVC President, and Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Mr Patrick Gregorio, while PNVF Secretary General Mr Donaldo Caringal also attended to witness the signing ceremony.
A joint initiative between the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and Ayala Land, the Nuvali Sand Courts are strategically located in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. The state-of-the-art facility features four world-class competition courts certified to FIVB standards, complemented by a dedicated practice court, all purpose-built to stage international-caliber tournaments.
In recent years, the Nuvali Sand Courts have already proven their mettle by successfully staging major international competitions such as the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour (BPT) Challenge – Philippine leg in late November to early December 2023, the AVC Beach Tour Nuvali Open (2nd Nuvali Open) in April 2025, and the 2024 Asian Senior Beach Volleyball Championships.
Fully equipped to meet the highest demands of the sport, the Nuvali Sand Courts stand as a beacon of excellence, aiming not only to elevate beach volleyball in the Philippines but also to serve as a springboard for the sustainable development of the discipline across Asia.
