FIVB BEACH VOLLEYBALL U18 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS CONCLUDE AT AL GHARRAFA COURTS

Doha, Qatar, October 11, 2025 – The FIVB Beach Volleyball U18 World Championships concluded on Sunday at Al Gharrafa Beach Courts in Doha, marking the first time that Qatar, and the Middle East,  hosted the prestigious global event.

In the men’s competition, the Norwegian duo Ringen Johannes and Kjemperud Sebastian claimed the championship title and the gold medals after defeating the German pair Jonathan Bongert and Philo Wüst in the final with a score of 2–0. 

The Italian team of Santo Massimo and Di Felice secured the bronze medals after overcoming Turkey’s Baris Guldali and Polat Kemal Iser 2–0 in the third-place match.

In the women’s category, the American team (1) composed of Jordyn Scribner and Ella Grimes captured the gold medals with a 2–0 victory in the final over the American team (2) of twin sisters Avery and Addison Janke, who took home the silver medals. 

The Belgian pair Simone Verfleut and Lente Thant won the bronze medals after defeating the Dutch duo Esmee Radstake and Yara Boon 2–1 in the third-place match.

The championships featured 64 teams — 32 men’s teams and 32 women’s teams — representing 55 countries from across the globe.

The event was hailed as a major success both technically and organizationally. Participating delegations praised the high level of organization, attention to detail, and overall quality of the tournament. All participants agreed that this first-ever edition hosted by Qatar was exceptional in every aspect, reflecting the country’s outstanding capabilities in organizing major international sporting events. The Local Organizing Committee’s dedicated efforts ensured an ideal environment for athletes and teams, contributing to a world-class tournament experience.

Qatar Volleyball Association President: Proud of the Success of the U18 Beach Volleyball World Championships

Mr. Ali Ghanem Al-Kuwari, President of both the Qatar and West Asia Volleyball Associations, praised the outstanding organizational success of the FIVB Beach Volleyball U18 World Championships for Men and Women, hosted by Qatar for the first time in the Middle East.

“Our joy is immense with the success achieved throughout the tournament,” Al-Kuwari said. “We were keen to deliver an exceptional edition that reflects Qatar’s leading position in hosting major international sporting events.”

He added, “The remarkable organizational success of the championships received wide acclaim from all participating delegations — a source of great pride for us. Hosting such a global event created an important platform for exchanging experiences and building exceptional bridges of sporting cooperation among all participating teams.”

Al-Kuwari also commended the high technical level displayed throughout the competition, noting that the championships witnessed the emergence of promising young talents who represent a bright future for the sport.

Speaking about Qatar’s participation, he said: “Qatar took part with two men’s teams and two women’s teams as part of the federation’s ambitious strategic plans to develop and prepare young talents for future international competitions.”

He continued, “The focus of this participation was not solely on results, but rather on the technical and developmental value that our players gained through this experience,” expressing his great satisfaction with the progress made toward advancing Qatari volleyball.

In conclusion, the QVA President affirmed that the Doha 2025 U18 Beach Volleyball World Championships marked a new phase of organizational excellence, reflecting Qatar’s ability to transform sporting events into platforms for innovation and distinction.
