AVC, Uzbekistan Formalize Landmark Cooperation With Signing of Volleyball Development MOU

Tashkent, Uzbekistan — Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) President Ramon Suzara led high-level discussions with senior government officials of the Republic of Uzbekistan that culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at significantly strengthening the development of volleyball and beach volleyball in the country.

The MOU was signed by Aziz Anvarovich Tashpulatov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and President of the Uzbekistan Volleyball Federation, establishing a structured and long-term framework of cooperation between the AVC and Uzbekistan’s national volleyball leadership.

The agreement focuses on elevating the standard of volleyball and beach volleyball events hosted in Uzbekistan, while raising the competitive level of Uzbek athletes through structured development programs, improved training systems, and expanded international cooperation.

“The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding marks a significant step in our shared commitment to elevating volleyball and beach volleyball in Uzbekistan,” said AVC President Ramon Suzara. “With the strong support of the Government of Uzbekistan and the leadership of the Uzbekistan Volleyball Federation, we are laying the foundation for higher-quality events, stronger athlete development pathways, and deeper regional cooperation that will benefit volleyball in Uzbekistan and across Asia.”

Discussions leading to the agreement involved Adkham Ilkhamovich Ikramov, Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, along with representatives of the Uzbekistan Volleyball Federation. Talks centered on the readiness of sports facilities, strong governmental backing, and long-term strategies to strengthen volleyball development at both the event-hosting and athlete-performance levels.

As part of the process, Minister Ikramov consulted the outcome of the discussions with H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who expressed his support for the initiative and shared his vision for further advancing volleyball development nationwide.

The signing of the MOU marks a major milestone in Uzbekistan’s sports development agenda and reflects the government’s continued commitment to volleyball as a priority discipline. It also underscores the shared vision between the Asian Volleyball Confederation and Uzbek authorities to strengthen regional cooperation, elevate event standards, and contribute to the sustained growth of volleyball across Asia.
