CAVA Women’s League 2026 Opens as Turan VC and Huraa Community Club Claim Day 1 Wins

The CAVA Women’s League 2026 officially got underway on Wednesday at the Social Center Indoor Hall in Malé, with Pool A and Pool B action marking the opening day of competition in the Maldivian capital.

The opening day featured two matches, beginning with Pool A action in the afternoon and followed by Pool B competition in the evening, as clubs from across the region launched their campaigns in the continental club tournament.

In the first match of the day, Turan VC (Kazakhstan) opened their Pool A campaign with a straight-sets victory over Hirdaramani Sports Club (Sri Lanka), winning 3–0 (25–11, 25–8, 25–20). Turan VC set the tone early and maintained control throughout the match to secure the first win of the competition. The match lasted 56 minutes and officially opened play in the 2026 edition of the league.

Later in the evening, Pool B competition began with Huraa Community Club (Maldives) taking on Humo VC (Uzbekistan). The host side delighted the home crowd with a 3–0 victory (26–24, 25–20, 25–20) in a closely contested encounter that lasted 1 hour and 18 minutes. Backed by strong local support, Huraa Community Club showed composure in key moments to secure an important opening win in Pool B.

Day 1 also included the official opening ceremony, held between the two matches, formally welcoming participating teams, officials, and stakeholders to the CAVA Women’s League 2026 in Malé.

With the opening matches completed, Turan VC leads Pool A while Huraa Community Club takes an early lead in Pool B. The competition in Malé continued to take shape as teams look ahead to the next round of matches, with clubs aiming to secure crucial points on the road to the semifinals.
