Malé, Maldives — Day 4 of the CAVA Women’s League 2025 produced two contrasting matches at the Social Center Indoor Hall in Malé, highlighted by a dominant straight-sets win in the afternoon and a dramatic five-set contest in the evening, as the preliminary round moved closer to its conclusion.

Clubs from Iran, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives were in action, with results further shaping the race for the semifinals.

In the afternoon Pool B encounter, Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan (Iran) delivered a commanding performance against Humo VC (Uzbekistan), securing a comprehensive 3–0 victory (25–11, 25–11, 25–11) in just 56 minutes. The Iranian side controlled the match from start to finish, limiting Humo VC’s scoring opportunities and maintaining consistent pressure across all phases of play.

Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan dominated the team statistics, out-spiking their opponents 37–11 and out-blocking them 11–1, reflecting their effectiveness at the net and in transition. Masoumeh Ghadami Tabaghdehi led the scoring with 12 points, including 10 attacks, while Roo Yasna Ahankoub and Zahra Karimi contributed key blocks. For Humo VC, Nigina Mirzaeva was the leading scorer with three points. The result solidified Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan’s position at the top of Pool B and confirmed their place in the semifinals.

The evening session delivered the most closely contested match of the day, as Hirdaramani Sports Club (Sri Lanka) edged Club WAMCO (Maldives) in a hard-fought five-set battle, 3–2 (24–26, 25–23, 25–18, 18–25, 15–8). The match lasted nearly two hours and featured frequent momentum shifts, extended rallies, and strong individual performances on both sides.

Despite spirited support from the home crowd, Club WAMCO were unable to close out the match, with Hirdaramani Sports Club holding their composure in the deciding set. Dilukshi Senarathna delivered an outstanding performance for the Sri Lankan side, finishing with a match-high 34 points, all from attacks. She was supported by Nimeshika Gunawardana, who added 25 points, including four service aces. For Club WAMCO, Ampha Sonsurat led the scoring with 32 points, while Dejana Lekic added 12 in a strong all-round effort. The match drew an attendance of around 200 spectators, underscoring growing local interest in the competition.

Following Day 4, the updated pool standings show Turan VC (Kazakhstan) leading Pool A with six points, followed by Hirdaramani Sports Club (Sri Lanka) and Club WAMCO (Maldives). In Pool B, Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan (Iran) sit on top with nine points and an unbeaten record, ahead of Nepal Police Club (Nepal) and Huraa Community Club (Maldives), while Humo VC (Uzbekistan) remain without a win.

As the preliminary round nears its end, Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan have secured top spot in Pool B, while Turan VC advance from Pool A with the highest points, joined by Hirdaramani Sports Club as the second semifinalist. The final Pool B match between Nepal Police Club and Huraa Community Club will determine the last team to qualify for the semifinals.

The CAVA Women’s League 2025 continues in Malé with the semifinal matches scheduled next, as the competition enters its decisive knockout stage.
