BANGKOK, Thailand — NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki delivered a dominant performance, defeating Harudot Chonburi RMUTT in straight sets to begin their campaign at the AVC Women’s Champions League 2026.
The Japanese side secured a 3–0 victory (28–26, 25–16, 25–21), controlling the match with a balanced offensive display and disciplined execution across all departments.
NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki were tested early in the opening set, edging Harudot Chonburi in a tight 28–26 finish before taking full control in the succeeding sets. The Japanese club dictated the pace through efficient attacking and consistent service pressure, limiting Harudot’s ability to build sustained momentum.
Yoshino Sato led the scoring for NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki with 17 points, including 12 attack points, one block, and four service aces, spearheading the team’s offensive effort.
NEC’s advantage was reflected in the statistics, finishing with a 50–39 edge in attack points, along with six service aces compared to Harudot’s two. They also held the edge at the net with three blocks, while capitalizing on opponent errors to maintain control throughout the match.
Harudot Chonburi RMUTT showed resilience, particularly in the opening set, but were unable to sustain their challenge against NEC’s consistency and depth.
With the win, NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki strengthen their position in Pool B as they look to advance to the knockout stage and move closer to securing one of the tournament’s two qualification spots for the FIVB Volleyball Club World Championship.
