Bangkok, Thailand, December 25, 2018 – More than 1,500 students joined the Volleyball Your Way program at the Institute of Physical Education Udon Thani in Thailand’s northeastern province Udon Thani on Monday, aimed at teaching the basics of volleyball to children and youth through pure grassroots activities.
Mr Somporn Chaibangyang, president of Thailand Volleyball Association, presided over the fun-packed activities, while Dr Rueangsak Siriphol, General Manager of the AVC Headquarters in Thailand, AVC Referees Committee Chairman Mr Songsak Chareonpong and representatives from sponsors including Thai Beverage Vice President of External Affairs Mrs Thanthip Sirinupong were also attending as guests of honour.
As around 1,200 young students from elementary schools in Udon Thani and neighbouring provinces learned how to play volleyball outdoor and have fun with it, some other 300 students from high schools learned higher levels of volleyball tactics and techniques indoor.
Thailand national men’s and women’s team players including two star spikers Pleumjit Thinkaow, Wilavan Apinyapong and Nootsara Tomkom, the world’s Best Setter in 2012 by the prestigious Volleyball Globe awards (www.volleyball.it), had been invited to teach those student in the “EST Volleyball Your Way” EST Volleyball-Mentoring Class” program, where fun and passion for volleyball were the real essence of the activities. Immensely, the students enjoyed the day with the entertaining sport and were all smiles.
