Lausanne, Switzerland, January 30, 2019 – The FIVB Communication Commission talked at length about the importance of enhancing fan experience at volleyball events when it met via videoconference yesterday.
A highly-productive meeting was focused on ensuring the best possible experience for volleyball fans. Centralised TV production, enhanced graphics and improved content production and distribution were all on the agenda as the Commission discussed the different tools and ideas which could raise awareness of the sport and its enjoyment around the world.
With the second season of the prestigious VNL starting in May, the FIVB is now working on its promotional campaign for the event, which will feature athletes from different countries making more connections with their local and global fan bases.
During the meeting the FIVB Secretary General Fernando Lima said:
“We achieved a lot in 2018 with significant improvements to the fan experience, both at the venue and for those watching in front of a screen. It is crucial for us to continue looking for innovative communication strategies and ensure that fan engagement and fan experience is at the heart of what we do. We also talked about the FIVB events calendar and format because, in today’s changing world and with so many entertainment opportunities available, we always need to make sure that volleyball offers something special for the fans for them to stay with the sport.”
