Austrians Freiberger and Teufl are chasing their first World Tour medal since they won silver at the 2018 1-Star Samsun event in Turkey.
Their compatriots Stephanie Wiesmeyr and Anja Dörfler are seeded second and know what it takes to finish on the podium in Daegu after they won silver in 2018.
Russia’s Alexandra Moiseeva and Ekaterina Syrtseva are seeded third and they are seeking their first World Tour medal since they won silver at the 2019 1-Star Tuan Chau Island tournament in Vietnam.
Eunyeong Jang and Hyunji Kim are Korea’s highest ranked side, at 10th.
It is the third consecutive season in a row that Daegu has hosted a World Tour tournament. In 2017 Japan’s Miki Ishii and Megumi Murakami topped the women’s podium before Australia’s Phoebe Bell and Jessyka Ngauamo won gold in 2018.
