The city of Rimini in the Emilia-Romagna region is the capital of volleyball for VNL 2021
Volleyball World is delighted to welcome Emilia-Romagna, a region of Italy with a rich sporting history, as a national partner of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) 2021 presented by ENIT – Italian National Tourist Board.
The Italian region of Emilia-Romagna in northern Italy is incredibly passionate about sport and has warmly welcomed the world’s top national teams to the VNL bubble in Rimini, Italy, showcasing the region’s expertise and excellence in hosting top international events.
President of the Region Emilia Romagna, Stefano Bonaccini, said:
“It is an honour for Emilia-Romagna to host an international competition of this level. It is an opportunity to reaffirm the extraordinary relationship between this land and sport, as evidenced by the calendar of unprecedented events that we have hosted in recent months despite the tragedy of the pandemic.
“These events have showcased the great organisation and passion of Emilia-Romagna. Thanks to those who gave us confidence and maximum collaboration, we are delighted to be the world capital of volleyball for a month.”
Volleyball World CEO Finn Taylor said:

“This partnership is a natural and perfect fit given that the VNL 2021 is being held in the city of Rimini in the Emilia-Romagna region, and we are excited to be bringing incredible volleyball action to the region.”
The VNL 2021 is being held in a secure bubble in Rimini, Italy from 25 May to 25 June for the women’s edition and 28 May to 27 June for the men’s edition. 32 of the world’s strongest national teams are currently battling it out to be crowned VNL champions.
The region of Emilia-Romagna has recently hosted events such as the return of Formula 1 in Imola, the MotoGP in Misano, two WTA and ATP tennis tournaments in Parma and Montechiarugolo and the Supercoppa and the Italian Cup final in Reggio Emilia.
