The Qatar Volleyball Association organized an event for Afghan refugees, which aims to create a new participatory environment with a tangible psychological impact on the participants and their families. It also aims to improve the health and safety of youth and children in Qatar through volleyball and support the social development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030, which is In line with the ultimate goal of organizing this event.
In this regard, Mr Ali bin Ghanem Al-Kuwari, President of the Qatar Volleyball Association, said, “The organization of this event by the Federation is a positive thing, and we seek to extend the scope of our expansion programs in spreading the game to include the facilities and housing units in which the Afghan refugees – guests of Qatar – which will help leave an impact. Concrete multi-faceted, whether physical or psychological to our guests in Doha.”
The organization and management of the event was supervised by Captain Tariq Zakaria, QVA Technical Secretary of the National Teams Committee and the QVA Coaches, Captain Hilal Al-Rawi and Captain Mahmoud Hassouna.
A number of Afghan men and children residing in the residential complex participated in the event, and they were provided with instructions on the rules of the game before starting the game. All the players (guests) unanimously agreed on their passion for volleyball and their practice for long hours, as it is one of their favorite sports.
