Bangkok, Thailand, October 22, 2022 – The FIVB Level-2 Coaches Course, which was organised online by the Dr Sivanthi Adityan FIVB Regional Development Centre for Volleyball in Chennai, India, came to a fruitful conclusion on Friday, with all 32 candidates including 7 women from Afghanistan, Greece, Nepal and hosts India passing the 10-day course conducted by Course Director/Instructor Mr G.E. Sridharan.
The course, sponsored and supported by Volleyball Federation of India (NSF), was inaugurated on October 12, with Mr Mohamed Latheef, President of Central Asian Volleyball Association, and Prof Dr Achutha Samantha, President of Volleyball Federation of India, jointly presiding.
Also in attendance were Mr Anil Chaudhry, Secretary General Volleyball Federation of India, Mr Ramavtar Singh Jakhar, Executive Vice President Central Zone AVC, and Mr S. Vasudevan, Chairman of Finance Committee, Volleyball Federation of India along with Development Centre Director Mr A. Ramana Rao and Course Director/Instructor Mr G.E. Sridharan.
Mr G.E. Sridharan is by far one of the most experienced coaches. Apart from emerging as the Arjuna and Dronacharya Awardee, he is also national coach of the Indian volleyball, Member of the AVC Coaches Committee, Chairman of the Development & Coaches Committee Central Asian Volleyball Association and Expert of the Euro-Asia Coaches Cooperation Project 2022.
The FIVB Instructor had taken classes for intensive 40 hours with two hours in the morning and another two hours in the evening session for 10 days.
The objectives of the online theory classes were for the candidates to improve their knowledge so that they may gain recognition as FIVB Level-2 coaches. The candidates also stood a chance to exchange ideas and experiences.
All participants learned Theory of Training, Planning, Management in Training and in Competition, Physical Preparation, Communication in Modern Volleyball, System of Formation, and Modern Technical Skills, How to Teach Skills, Specialization, Advanced Game Technique and Tactics in Coaching which provided a higher level of teaching and coaching.
After 10 days of coaching education, the course came to a close on Friday, October 21. Director Mr A. Ramana Rao, Dr SA RDC & Mr Ramavtar Singh Jakhar, Executive Vice President – CZ, Asian Volleyball Confederation & FIVB Instructor Mr G.E. Sridharan were guests for the online function.
Mr A. Ramana Rao advised the candidates to implement the methods taught in the course in their future coaching assignments.
Mr Ramavtar Singh Jakhar wished all the candidates their successful endeavors in the near future and advised them to groom the budding talents thereby help the Federation to build the strong Indian Volleyball Team and also gave his best wishes to the neighboring country candidates who had passed this online Level-2 Coaches Course at the Dr Sivanthi Adityan FIVB Regional Development Centre for Volleyball.
Course Director Mr G.E. Sridharan thanked the gatherings and wished all the candidates a successful future in their coaching assignments.
