The King of Denmark and H.R.H. the Grand Duke of Luxembourg help to close out what has been a spectacular first week of competition

- Also among the distinguished spectators on day seven was the former President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, as well as representatives from Fukuoka Prefecture
As the first week of the Olympic Games draws to a spectacular close, the South Paris Arena 1 was once again lit up, not just by the volleyball matches but also by an impressive array of distinguished guests from around the world.

Adding a royal touch to the day, H.R.H. the Grand Duke of Luxembourg and King Frederik X of Denmark came to enjoy the epic France vs. Slovenia match. They were both greeted by three-time Olympian Vlad Grbić and presented with a souvenir replica volleyball. They were joined by IOC Member and former Pole Vaulter Sergii Bubka, whose caught up with the General Director of the FIVB, Fabio Azevedo at the set break.

The former President of the Japan Olympic Committee, Ms. Seiko Hashimoto, came to enjoy the sporting show as she watched the USA vs Japan under the evening lights alongside Finn Taylor, the CEO of Volleyball World.
Also among the distinguished spectators on day seven was the former President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, as well as representatives from Fukuoka Prefecture, who caught the intense action as Germany faced off against Argentina and the USA came up against Japan in the men’s competition.
